The Cape Coast Archdiocesan Youth Council (CCADYC) on Saturday, 16th May 2026, organized an Entrepreneurship Skills Training Programme for the youth of the Archdiocese under the theme:
“Entrepreneurship: A Mindset for Job Creation.”
The impactful initiative was championed by the Archbishop of Cape Coast, Most Rev. Charles Gabriel Palmer-Buckle, as part of efforts to empower young people with practical skills, creativity, and a spirit of self-reliance amid growing unemployment challenges in the country.
The programme sought to encourage Catholic youth to embrace entrepreneurship as a pathway to sustainable livelihood and national development.
The training session was facilitated by renowned agricultural entrepreneurs, Mr. Bernard Bempah and Mr. George Fugluu, who shared valuable insights and practical knowledge in animal and crop production respectively.
A total of fifty-nine (59) youth from across the Archdiocese participated in the programme alongside six (6) Youth Chaplains, making the event both interactive and impactful.
Key Highlights and Benefits of the Training
Participants were exposed to practical entrepreneurial opportunities, particularly within the agricultural sector, and were encouraged to develop a mindset geared towards innovation, leadership, and self-employment.
The programme also emphasized:
Building self-reliance among the youth
Reducing over-dependence on white-collar jobs
Promoting creativity and entrepreneurial thinking
Creating networking opportunities between youth and experienced entrepreneurs
The initiative reflects the Archdiocese’s continued commitment to youth empowerment, skills development, and holistic formation.
CCADYC remains dedicated to equipping young Catholics with the tools and mindset needed to contribute positively to both the Church and society.
